Mehmet Akif Kurdoğlu

Mehmet Akif Kurdoğlu provides legal advisory and attorney services on a national and international scale to domestic and foreign individuals, companies and investors through MAK Global Consultancy and Law, which he founded by bringing together his multidisciplinary background in public administration, international assignments and law.

Having begun his career in public service, Kurdoğlu served for 25 years within the Turkish Armed Forces as a military bureaucrat in command roles at various levels and in national and international assignments. Throughout his service he gained significant experience in strategic planning, institutional management, crisis management, inter-agency coordination, international negotiation and diplomatic communication.

Within the scope of his international duties he took an active part in NATO activities, bilateral military cooperation programmes and assignments carried out within the military attaché organisation. During these processes he coordinated with the military and civilian institutions of different countries and undertook roles in international representation, institutional cooperation, security policy and diplomatic relations.

During these assignments he used English and Russian as active working languages and took part in multilateral work conducted with public institutions, international organisations and foreign representatives from different legal systems and business cultures. The international experience he gained forms the foundation of the legal advisory services he provides today to foreign investors and international companies.

With the aim of combining the discipline, analytical ability and strategic perspective he acquired in public service with the legal profession, he graduated from Okan University Faculty of Law in 2017.

In addition to his legal education, he studied in an English-language graduate programme in Political Science and International Relations, conducting academic work in international relations, security policy, diplomacy and global governance. He completed the coursework of the programme but, as he did not complete his thesis, the programme did not result in graduation. Nevertheless, the academic knowledge he gained makes an important contribution to his work in international law, foreign-investor advisory and cross-border commercial relations.

MAK Global Consultancy and Law, which he founded, operates beyond classic litigation-focused legal services, with a strategic advisory approach directed at the early identification of legal risks, corporate risk management, the planning of international investment processes and the conduct of commercial activities under legal security.

He serves across a broad field of practice, primarily Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Contract Law, International Trade Law, Enforcement and Insolvency Law, Criminal Law and Corporate Legal Advisory. He also advises on foreign investors’ investment processes in Türkiye, company formations, international contracts and cross-border commercial relations.

Thanks to his proficiency in English and Russian, he is able to work directly with international clients and conducts multidisciplinary legal processes in coordination with solution partners at home and abroad.

The foundations of his professional approach are the rule of law, commitment to ethical values, confidentiality, a preventive-law mindset and the principle of producing strategic solutions. He handles every legal matter not merely as a dispute but with a holistic approach that considers together the client’s commercial objectives, corporate reputation and long-term interests.
